What to Do About Staff Shortage in Colleges?

The Government Colleges in Kerala, is facing serious issues of Staff shortage, especially the colleges which are geographically away from the capital city.

While the Colleges near the capital city enjoy more staff than required (in some departments) and almost 100% requirement in all other departments, other colleges suffer severely.

The problem may not be the administration of the College. The problem is with the government, who try play politics, since the northern colleges are left-oriented, while the ruling government is right-winged.

Another problem, is the in-activeness of the students, who are happy with what they have and don't urge for quality education.

Reasons are several, when the existing faculties get transferred, the replacements seldom come in. The Government who are supposed to create new faculty posts, update this posts very late (or may be never).
Also, these vacancies are not updated, sometimes by the college, and sometimes by the Directorate of Technical Education.

The Government's new policy to give self-governing power to colleges, will adversely effect the Government colleges, especially, when the availability of qualified faculties comes into play.

I do not prefer to complaint about the government policy, when the students themselves are not interested in attaining quality education. If, students are ready to fight for their rights, then the government would have no other option but to hear them.
